The Suquet is this hill that keeps the soul of Cannes. It is located opposite the marina.


Le Suquet is the historic city of Cannes. Where the city was originally built.

Like other Mediterranean cities, the old town is a perched hill, with small medieval streets, pedestrians.

The cities in the south of France were like that, at height, to protect themselves from Saracen attacks.

Later, the monks of St Honorat Abbey (on behalf of St Honorat Island), built a castle here.

Around the castle was founded the city. It became a fortified city.


Today, the Suquet still has its charm.

There are pleny of restaurants, different shops. A local market - the Forville market selling fresh fruits and vegetables and local fish.

The streets are small and pedestrian.

From Le Suquet, ones has a beautiful view of the bay of Cannes, the Lérins Islands, and the Croisette.
