Place details
The Balchik Palace and the Botanic garden were the summer property of a Romanian queen at the beginning of the 20th century.
The Palace was the favorite place where in summer the Queen Mary of Romania regularly came to rest.
The shape of the palace recalls that of a mosque. In fact, it was the copy of a Cypriot church of the 20th century that had pleased the Queen.
The palace itself is not very big.
The beauty of the place is in fact due to the large botanical garden that overlooks the sea.
In the Botanic Garden, there are over 2000 varieties of flowers and plants. Some of them are rare varieties for these lands.
There is also an impressive collection of cacti.
This is the second largest collection in Europe, after that of the Botanic Garden of Monaco.

She would sit for hours watching the sea.
Today his stone throne is still there.
