Place details
The Stone Forest is a group of rocks planted in the ground, not far from Varna. Some columns exceed 2 m in height.
Their origin dates back more than 50 million years!
The place is unusual, the rocks almost supernatural.
There are many assumptions about their origins:
- Some say that these lands were in the seabed. As the sea has receded, erosion would have done its job, and the rocks would have obtained the form that is known to them today.
- Others recount not erosion, but a legend of petrified Titans, strong love, blessed water and the name of God.
